Last Days of our City Union Mission Collection!

On March 4, the Music Ministry will showcase parts of their fall musical, Riches to Rags , at City Union Mission for their men's homeless community. When asked how else Cornerstone could support City Union Mission, we were asked to collect RAZORS and TOOTHBRUSHES for their shelter. We have already met our goal of 150 of each item, so we are extending the challenge to be 500 of each! We can collect 1,000 items by Sunday with your help!

Please bring all donations to the church by  This Sunday, March 4. Thank you!

Palm Sunday Cantata: Come to the Cross and Remember
March 25, 7pm -- Ticketed Event

Please join us for this musical event, as we remember Christ's journey to the cross. Cornerstone's Adult, Youth and Children's Choirs, along with orchestra will present music reminding us of the hope we have been given through the triumphant resurrection of Christ.

Tickets are free, but seating is limited. You may pick up tickets starting this Sunday, March 4, in the lobby of Cornerstone, or throughout the week in the office.
Serve Day - this Saturday - March 3, 8am-noon
We look forward to coming together to seek the welfare of our city.

All people can serve and will be greatly appreciated, but if you are handy with home repairs or have a chainsaw to bring, you are specifically asked to help. More details Saturday morning.

Meet at the church for coffee & donuts, and then we will split into groups to serve our mission partners like NewHope Food Pantry, New House Domestic Shelter, The Urban Farming Guys, GUCM and more.

Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 24, at 10:30am

There are three ways you can be a part of our community Easter egg hunt:

1) Invite your friends and neighbors. We want to meet as many people as you can bring to the event. There will be bouncy houses, games, free food, and (of course) a huge egg hunt.
2) Donate plastic eggs and small wrapped candies. We are hoping to have record-breaking attendance this year, so we need LOTS of supplies.
3) Donate your time! We need adults and youth to monitor bouncy houses, to run games, and to help serve food.

If you'd like to donate supplies or your time, or if you have any questions, please email Kid's Ministry Director Ron Reno at ronr@cornerstoneks.org
Join the Mowing Team
If you love the smell of fresh cut grass on warm summer evenings and the view of a lush green landscape - we need your help!

Our beautiful property is mowed and trimmed entirely by volunteers, saving thousands of dollars each year. If you are willing to volunteer for as little as once a month for 2-3 hours (using riding mowers), we need you to join the mowing team.  Spring is just around the corner, so please contact Jeff Biggs at jeffbiggs@live.com
if you can help or have questions.

Year-End Financial Update

God richly blessed Cornerstone in 2017 in many ways. For the full year 2017, generous spirits boosted giving to 115% of budget ($120K favorable), and careful spending led to expenses being 8% below budget ($65K favorable). These blessings resulted in an operating surplus of $155K, versus a budgeted deficit of $56K, and increased Cornerstone's cash reserves to $317K. God is good!

Great progress continues with the Rise Up & Build campaign with over $1.1 million given through December, and $168K in cash on hand.  Our goal is collect an additional $240K on pledges for 2018, which will help us reduce the loans on both the Kenneth Road and Quivira properties.

The 3-year interest-only loan on the Quivira property was reduced by $225K in 2017, and now stands at only $130K, and we successfully obtained a $1.6M loan for purchase of the Kenneth Road property (appraised in the $4M-$6M range).

Our ministry and reach are poised to grow, and we will ask God to entrust his church with additional resources in 2018. We encourage you to prayerfully consider your commitment to the All-In stewardship campaign and respond with your pledge card this Sunday March 4th.
