2018-19 ProComp Eligibility Update: Consider Serving How and Where You're Needed Most
Dear Teachers,

As you know, through ProComp we provide incentives for teachers and specialized service providers (SSPs) who serve in our highest-poverty schools in order to better attract and retain strong teachers to serve our highest-need students. We collectively negotiate ProComp with DCTA and, as we've shared in our current negotiations, we believe incentives for teachers to serve in our highest-poverty schools is a critical equity measure.

To qualify for the Hard-to-Serve incentive, a school must meet the collectively bargained threshold for the percentage of students who qualify for the free- and reduced-lunch program. Here is the
list of hard-to-serve schools  for the 2018-19 school year, as agreed to between DCTA and DPS. ProComp participants at a hard-to-serve school will receive a total annual incentive of $2,668. This amount will go up when the cost of living increase is applied for next year. This incentive is paid in increments over 12 months, from September through August.

Schools that do not meet the threshold for Hard-to-Serve may qualify for the $1,500 Title I incentive. Here is the list of Title I schools
for the 2018-19 school year.

ProComp participants in  eligible hard-to-staff assignments per agreement between DCTA and DPS will also receive a total annual incentive of $2,668 (plus next year's cost of living increase). This incentive is also paid in increments over 12 months, from September through August. The ProComp Transition Team determines eligible hard-to-staff assignments.

In addition,  schools designated for the Highest-Priority incentives  will remain the same for the 2018-19 school year. All teachers and SSPs in these schools are eligible for the incentive. The highest-priority incentive is paid in increments over 12 months, from September through August. For eligible teachers and SSPs currently in a highest-priority school who return to a highest-priority school for 2018-19, the highest-priority retention incentive will be paid in the October paycheck.

Weigh In on Redesigning the High School Experience
A student at South High School.
Please complete the
this survey by Wednesday, March 14, to contribute your perspective on the vision for redesigning the DPS high school experience. In light of the new graduation requirements and the district's goal that all students graduate college and career ready, redesigning the high school experience is one of the current district instructional priorities.

In the work to develop a five-year plan for this priority, the Division of Secondary Education is gathering diverse perspectives to understand the current state of the DPS high school experience and ideas for what would best support our students' future success. This survey will require just a few minutes of your time. Thank you for lending your voice to this important work!
