This has been a fantastic year for Full Circle Literary's incredible illustrators! We have been thrilled to celebrate their new works in 2017. Thank you to all of the publishers, readers, librarians, educators and more who have supported and celebrated these artists with us. 
Here are some amazing 2017 highlights and more magic to come in the new year!


John Parra was awarded a New York Times/New York Public Library Best Illustrated Children's Books of the Year for FRIDA KAHLO AND HER ANIMALITOS written by Monica Brown. This phenomenal book was also a Center for the Study of Multicultural Children's Literature Best Book of 2017 and Barnes & Noble Best Book of 2017. 
 
Rafael Lopez was awarded the 2017 Silver Medal from the Society of Illustrators for BRAVO! Featuring beautiful poetry by Margarita Engle, BRAVO! was named a School Library Journal Best Book of 2017-Top Ten picka Chicago Public Library Best of the Best Book 2017, a New York Public Library Best Book of 2017, and 2018 Texas Bluebonnet Award Nominee.
 
 Julie Flett is a new illustrator in the Full Circle family! WHEN WE WERE ALONE, written by David Alexander Robertson, was Winner of the 2017 Governor General's Literary Award in the Young People's Literature (Illustrated Books), nominated for the TD Canadian's Children's Literature Award, Alcuin Society Children's Award Honorable Mention, Cooperative Children's Book Center Choices 2017 Book, and received a starred review from The Horn Book
 
This year saw Susie Ghahremani's author-illustrator debut with STACK THE CATS! This bright, whimsical counting book was a Kirkus Reviews Best Picture Book of 2017 and an Amazon 2017 Best Children's Book (ages 3-5), and Susie was a Society of Illustrators Original Art Featured Artist. STACK THE CATS received starred reviews from Kirkus and Booklist
 
Ana Aranda debuted as an illustrator this year with THE CHUPACABRA ATE THE CANDELABRA and Ana was a Society of Illustrators Original Art Featured Artist! Written by Marc Tyler Nobleman, this hilarious picture book is a delight, and Ana is a brilliant new addition to the children's book world. 


 Juana Martinez-Neal was also a Society of Illustrators Original Art Featured Artist for her illustrations of the incredible LA PRINCESA AND THE PEA, written by Susan M. Elya! The book received starred reviews from School Library Journal and School Library Connection, and was a Chicago Public Library and Evanston Public Library Best of the Best Book 2017. 
 
Alexander Vidal debuted in 2017 with SO MANY FEET and his artwork is featured at the amazing Curiosity Grove at the California Academy of Sciences in San Francisco!  Watch for magical picture book debuts from new illustrators Jacqueline Alcantara and Tony Piedra coming in 2018, as well as more exciting news about our growing list of talented illustrators!
