You've found a Church Family!
We are so happy that you choose to
worship
with us each Sunday.
What's Next ?
Below is a link to find out what current groups we have at The Beach Church.
More groups are forming all the time, so if you don't see something
that interests you today, check back again to see if we've added more!
Small groups are a great way to 'Get Connected' in a more casual
environment. Groups usually consist of 15 members or less.
Just the right size for those of us who might like to have a voice
in our church, but don't want to do it in front of a hundred people.
Did I say that out loud ?
Not everyone likes the public stage...
but together, as a group, we can do anything!
What group will you join today?

Thankful for our Ministry Teams!
|
We want to say Thank You to our new
Ministry Teams
and "The New Beach Church" ideas they are forming.
They are not just ideas...they are moving forward at a
remarkable pace, and I hope you are as excited as I am
to get to be a part of this movement.
Change is good, and we are all a part of it.
As one, we stand alone...but together we can accomplish
great things! We've already seen amazing starts in our teams
and can't wait to see what the future holds for The Beach Church.
Thank you to all the Leaders of these teams and for
all the team members that wanted to become more
involved in the life of our church.
Here we go!
This is the day that the LORD has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
Psalm 118:24

I Am
Exodus 3:14 14 God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: 'I AM has sent me to you.'
In Matthew's Gospel (16: 13-20) we eavesdrop on a conversation between Jesus and his disciples in which Jesus asks, "Who do people say the Son of Man is?" His friends quickly offer many responses, "John the Baptist, Elijah, Jeremiah" they say. Then Jesus asks a more direct question, "But what about you? Who do you say I am?"
This question doesn't meet with a rapid group response. I can just see the eyes staring at the ground and the sandals shuffling in the dirt, lots of awkward silence. Peter breaks in, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." Jesus commends Peter for his answer.
In his book
Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis says of Jesus,
Either this man was, and is, the
Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to. ... Now it seems to me obvious that He was neither a lunatic nor a fiend: and consequently, however strange or terrifying or unlikely it may seem, I have to accept the view that He was and is God.
I offer Lewis's quote for your consideration and prayer, but not as your answer to Jesus'
question. Peter's answer in chapter 16, changes to
I never knew the guy
in Matthew 26. Jesus knew the challenge that human frailty poses to our faith and I suspect he knows that our faith is just as fragile as Peter's. Take some time to deeply consider the vocation and identity of Jesus during Lent; pray over it, discuss it with good friends, and seek the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and Biblical witness. By actively seeking to know Jesus, we will come closer to I Am.
God's peace,
Jim

We cannot say
Thank You enough to
Pam Davis
for her time, talent,
and dedication to our Lord Jesus.
Pam has taken our old worn pulpit and refurbished it to go
with our
current 'beach inspired' look at the church.
She has also beautifully handcrafted our Communion table, entry table,
and coastal donation box that you see every Sunday!
Her talent and dedication is truly visible to us all. We extend a heartfelt
Thank you to Pam for all her dedication and hours spent on this latest gem.
Our old pulpit had been hiding away in a closet and unused until now. She's
enabled us
to bring back some past history of our church
and a new coastal look all at the same time.
After all,
our church IS on the beach :
)
She has generously donated all her supplies and time to the Glory of God...
and we get to
enjoy her true talent every single week at The Beach Church.
Thank you for your servant heart, Pam, and for giving us this wonderful gift!
We love you... you are a true blessing to us all!
