Project Director Sought for Healthier Glades - Job Posting Reopens
~~~ Applications Desired for Key Community Position ~~~
In 2014, Palm Healthcare Foundation, Palm Beach County's leading public healthcare foundation, announced the launch of Healthier Together, its new community-driven, collaborative, place-based funding approach to solving complex health issues neighborhood by neighborhood in six communities throughout Palm Beach County.
To lead this important work, Healthier Glades is seeking a passionate, dynamic, detail-oriented professional who can facilitate the collective success of this effort, and serve as a public ambassador for the project. The Project Director will help drive and implement Healthier Together activities in the Glades communities, including strategy, program activities, communications, community engagement and data functions.

The city of Belle Glade is throwing a Christmas party at the Louis D. Lewis/Mary O. Evans Resource Center in downtown Belle Glade. The event will feature food, family fun, character appearances, music, a gift give away, Motown Singing Group, and much more. The event is free and open to the public.

Take Stock in Children - Seeking Male and Female Mentors in the Glades
Mentor a student at Glades Central High School. Each student receives a college scholarship upon high school graduation. Each student must meet with mentor to receive the scholarship. Meet once a week during the student's lunch period, 2 - 3 times a month. Our students need you. "Change a Life Over Lunch."

Free Food and Snack Boxes for Kids Over the Holiday Break
In partnership with South Florida Hunger Coalition, Living Hungry, Restoration Bridge, and Farm Share, our goal is to feed hungry children, teens, and the homeless during the holiday school break. 40 pallets of "white box" snack boxes are available. Each pallet contains 350 snack boxes and requires 4' x 4' x 6' of storage space.
The snack boxes contain 18 snack items (cereal, shelf-stable milk, 2 puddings, 3 graham crackers packs, 2 Nature Valley granola bars, Pop Tart, fruit cup, raisins, trail mix, 2 chips, and 2 Chef Boyardee meals) to last a child, teen, or adult 2-days of meals. Food and snack boxes can also be used for your clients during holiday events.
Claim your pallet by registering. We will add your name to your pallet for pick up during scheduled times (December 20th from 8:00 am - 11:00 am). Pick-up location is Mecca Farms at 7965 Lantana Road, Lake Worth, FL 33467.

Glades PATCH Meeting - No Meeting in December
There will be no PATCH Meeting during the month of December. The next meeting will be in January. The Glades PATCH (Planned Approach To Community Health) is a program designed to help the community evaluate, plan and implement health education and disease prevention and intervention programs. PATCH helps promote the health of the community to include social, emotional and physical well-being of its citizens. PATCH is a partnership of concerned citizens and organizations. This partnership provides a forum for identifying health problems affecting the community and mobilizing the community to plan, conduct and evaluate intervention services. The meeting is open to all who wish to join.
