Greetings!
Winter is in full swing and with it comes sniffles, sneezes, and stuffy heads. A handmade card makes a wonderful tonic and we've got just the prescription for your crafty cold so you can send an under-the-weather friend some joy. A card can also bring much comfort to someone going through a difficult time or suffering from a painful loss, but these types of cards can be a challenge to create, so we're sharing some terrific projects from our Creative Team to help.
In this darling Get Well card, designer Keia Shipp-Smith used our Little Bits - Nurse's Hat, Stethoscope, and Bandage to great advantage. By pairing them with our In & Out - Get Well stamp set, she's packed in the encouragement and the love (with Cherry Pop Enamel Shape hearts!)
Take Two and Call Me In the Morning
Care packages can really brighten someone's day and we love this 'Feel Better Soon' sack by Creative Team alum Kerri Michaud. She created this bright and cheerful Sack It To You treat sack, decorated with stamps from our Souper Soon Stamp & Die Combo, and filled it with all the necessities: lozenges, tissues, and tea bags!
Use our Matchbox Die set and our Listen to Your Heart stamp set to craft a little something that does the double-duty of sending get well wishes along with a wee surprise like Jean Manis did on this cute matchbox, below. It's a fun, interactive way to let someone know you're thinking of them!
Flowers are always a nice way to say 'get well,' so you can't go wrong with using them on a card! Creative Team alum Kerri Michaud used our Pitcher Vase Shaker Die , Bloomers 6 Dies , Lattice Frame Cutting Plate , and Bloomers Greenery Dies to create this happy card.
Looking for even more ways to say 'get well'? Our Graphic Greetings line of stamps always offers up tons of possibilities, as seen on this card from Creative Team alum Wanda Guess. With some cheerful paper and a die-cut butterfly, this card is not at a loss for words of well wishes!
Choose Hope
A cancer diagnosis can be frightening, upsetting, and lonely, whether for the patient or for loved ones trying to cope. A card may seem inadequate, but just letting someone going through treatment know that you are thinking of them can be a source of encouragement. We developed our Choose Hope Stamp & Die Combo with this in mind and we hope it will help you create and share joy where it's needed most.
In the example above, Taylor VanBruggen crafted cards with die-cut 'ribbons' in several significant colors. Below, you'll find a partial list of ribbon colors and their corresponding cancer significance.
Beloved Four-Legged Friends
The loss of a pet is like losing a best friend. Taylor VanBruggen used our Care & Comfort - Pets stamp set to stamp these loving sentiments on the front and inside of her sweet card in memory of a lost dog. The stamped paw prints (from our Max Stamp & Die Combo) across our Heart Stacklets is the perfect gesture to capture the love between owner and pet.
Below, Creative Team alum Stephanie Kraft created a wonderful card in memoriam of a beloved pet using Care & Comfort - Pets alongside our Doghouse Accessories Dies. A die-cut Felt 'tennis ball' is a lovely, personal touch.
Most crafters do not often have a 'stash' of sympathy cards on hand, as these are not usually cards anyone is eager to make. Sometimes you may need to create a sympathy card quickly, but you still want to show care and respect. This completely die-cut card created by Jean Manis fits the bill and you can find it in our Make This Project Department along with step-by-step instructions and a supply list of ingredients.

Jean used our Sympathy Blooms Cutting Plate and Blooms Overlay to create this lovely card.
