A reminder to local elected officials wishing to serve on the 2020-2021 UBCM Executive that the deadline for all nominations is Friday, July 31, 2020. Nominations will not be accepted off the floor at the 2020 virtual Convention. Please reference the Call for Nominations for more information on submitting your nomination.

Updated resolutions process for 2020 Convention

With the 2020 UBCM Convention moving to a virtual format, UBCM has adapted this year's resolutions process. The following article outlines important resolutions information for 2020, and provides some updates and new information since the first article that was published on June 30.

Community climate preparedness opportunity

The Fraser Basin Council invites Indigenous and rural BC communities of less than 10,000 people to express interest in taking part in a Community Climate Preparedness Virtual Workshop Series in the fall or winter of 2020/21. This series will consist of four training sessions on the basics of how to conduct a climate change adaptation engagement and planning process. Links will be made between building resilience to climate change and building general community resilience as part of the recovery from COVID-19. The deadline for submissions is August 14, 2020 .
