1st grade performed their Nativity Play for family and enjoyed a "Cast Party" afterward. The audience's favorite? A nativity animal song called "Oh What a Special Night". Cute and catchy!

From the Desk of Ellen Knippel, Principal

Dear Parents,
As we light the two final Advent candles this week, we wish all of you a blessed Christmas and a healthy, Happy New Year!

I have been very proud of the many acts of kindness we have witnessed in our school over the past few weeks. I'm hoping this continues into the New Year! Our theme for January is "FRIENDSHIP". As we add to the ways we "Grow in God's Love" this year, we can reflect on the Scripture verse from Proverbs 17- Friends always show their love. What more could we say!

We are excited for the Christmas Concert tomorrow night! Please remember:
  • Call time for students is 6:15pm. If you arrive early, we ask that all students SIT IN THE PEWS WITH PARENTS until 6:15pm. We want to remind everyone that our concert takes place in church and we want that space to remain sacred.
  • Students should wear Sunday best. Shoulders covered, no jeans or sweatpants please. Ladies, please be careful with heels as the risers can get slippery.
  • Parents, please keep your child's phone with you. They will not need them during the concert.
Blessings!
Mrs. Knippel

Christmas Scrip!
This is your last week to shop Scrip before Christmas! We will not be selling the weekend of Christmas. Last minute scrip purchases can be made this week, before/after the Christmas Concert, and in the school work room on Tuesday, 12/19 and Thursday, 12/21 from 12:30-2:30pm.

Siblings at School
Parents, we greatly appreciate your willingness to volunteer at school!  Please be aware that children are not allowed in the kitchen area at any time for their safety and for our insurance liability - and those who are here must be supervised by an adult at all times.  If you are unable to get a sitter or a sub while you come to help in the kitchen, please contact the office.  Thanks again for your generous help - we are trying to keep your children safe!

School Tree of Kindness
Please be sure to send any acts of kindness you have seen your child perform during Advent (a simple email to Bonita or Mrs. Knippel) and we will be sure they get an ornament to put on the school Tree of Kindness.

2017 Christmas Concert
St. Anthony on the Lake School
December 19th at 6:30pm in Church

This year's concert is titled "Christmas Collage."

Call Time for All Music Students will be 6:15pm in the Church; please keep your child's jacket with you.

Dress Code Guidelines: Students should wear their "Christmas Best" (dressy dress-up). We want your student to shine and feel good in what they are wearing. NO t-shirts, midriffs, nothing too short and no jeans. Girls may wear dress pants or a skirt with a blouse, or a dress. If your daughter would like to wear leggings, please make sure that they are paired with a skirt, dress, or long tunic (mid-thigh).   Shoulders should be covered (short or long sleeves are fine). Boys should be in dress pants and a collared shirt. Holiday colors are more than welcome! Wear comfy, non-slipping shoes. Heels should be tasteful; and, please, no neon tennis shoes. Do not dress too warmly - it can get very warm up on the risers.

Reserving Seats: Please be considerate of other families who may not be able to be there extra early. Keep 4-6 seats for your immediate family, but please not the entire row. Thank you for being welcoming and inclusive to your school family in your decisions.

Concert: I truly hope that you will come and enjoy the concert that our children have worked so hard to prepare for you. This concert will feature some funny moments, but also some heartfelt ones as we work on how our relationship with music helps bring us closer to others, closer to God, and helps us celebrate this beautiful season!

Please note:  3K, 4K, and 5K will be returning to sit with parents after singing.

Post-Concert Clean-Up: It is a tradition that 8th grade students and their parents clean up after the concert. Please plan to stay until this is complete.  ALL chairs need to be stacked in stacks of 4. Music stands will be placed on the music stand cart. All other items will be returned to the music room.

See you at the concert!
