One year ago I challenged each of you to consider "ONE MORE." What that looked like was up to you, maybe it was to attend ONE MORE event, meet ONE MORE member, get involved in ONE MORE committee, or share ONE MORE idea. I was encouraged to see these examples of ONE MORE unfold over the past year. You stepped up, made a difference for CFMA, and I hope for yourselves as well. The results are evident in our growth (we are up to 283 members!) and the increased participation at our events.

Since my term as Chapter President ends in March, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you for allowing me to serve as your leader these past two years. This has been an incredibly rewarding experience, both personally and professionally. Thank you to our Past President, Kathy Cole, for being my advisor, and our outstanding Executive Committee, board, and all the committee members who donate their time, expertise and energy, and a special thanks to our administrator, Deb Hypke. She sits in on many of the meetings, keeps the executive team apprised and even when there is a hiccup or two behind the scenes you would never know it. So thank you Deb for keeping us on track and making this look simple.

I am excited for the year ahead, for our new leadership, and the outstanding programming planned for our members. Throughout this newsletter you will see the many opportunities available through your CFMA membership. Specifically I encourage you to join us on March 22nd for the Annual Meeting and Roundtable Discussion program. At the meeting I will introduce you to the new board and officers for 2018. Our membership committee will draw the winning names for $500 in Amazon gift cards. To be eligible, you must renew your membership by March 1st. Have you renewed?

There is a lot going on within CFMA and specifically here in our local chapter. Please take time to read about upcoming events, volunteer opportunities and our annual intern program ... plenty of reasons to keep doing ONE MORE. Remember, the benefits of CFMA are proportional to what you put into it.

I look forward to serving as Past President, supporting the new leadership team and being involved in the continued growth of our Chapter.

Attendees will discuss and share best practices on subjects important to today's Construction Financial Managers. Similar to speed networking events, attendees will rotate tables throughout the program, learning and sharing insight on various topics, while engaging with industry peers and fellow CFMA members. Each table will have a subject matter expert to lead the discussion and field questions.

CFMA Chicago Intern Program Now Accepting Applications for 2018

The CFMA Chicago Intern Award Program Makes a Difference in a Student's Educational Experience and Career Planning. This program is exclusively for employers of CFMA general members and provides support, recognition, and a financial incentive for employing a college student in an accounting or financial capacity in a construction environment during the summer months.
