Worship: Sundays @ 8:15, 9:40, 11:00 am | Wednesdays @ 6:35 pm
Deeply Rooted
Jesus began one of his most familiar parables with "A farmer went out to scatter seed." He frequently used images and illustrations from everyday life to teach his followers about what it means to grow as disciples, as well as some of the struggles and difficulties we encounter along the way. This year during the season of Lent, the 40 days leading up to Easter, we'll listen to some of these gospel episodes again; we'll be challenged and encouraged to develop the practices that help us experience God's marvelous love and grow deep roots as disciples of Christ.

This week's sermon will be "Built to Last" ( Matthew 7:21-29) by Rev. Catherine Fluck Price.
Prayer in the Chapel
Catherine has invited everyone to join her for a time of prayer in the Chapel every Tuesday from now through Easter from 5 - 6pm.  It will be a time to sit together in silent prayer listening for God's direction and praying for our church. During that hour, you are welcome to come and go as you need to and to come any week you are able.
Mission Box
T his week's Mission Box supports PET (Personal Energy Transportation) International, a volunteer group that produces "wheelchairs that go where ordinary wheelchairs cannot go"  to bring the gift of mobility and dignity to those who are unable to walk.  The carts are sent to over 100 developing nations, primarily in rural areas, to those who have lost the use of their legs because of land mines, accidents, birth defects, polio, and other diseases. The workshop at Penney Farms has a 2018 goal of 800 PET mobility carts, at a cost of $300 per cart, all paid by donations. If you would be interested in joining the group from Trinity that goes to Penney Farms once a month, please contact Jeannine Cawthon  (text-to-give keyword: pet)

Trinity Hires New Director of Youth Ministries
We are pleased to announce that Rebekah Saveland will be joining the Trinity staff team on May 1. Rebekah is a native of Brunswick, GA and currently serves as the Director of Youth Ministries at St Luke UMC. Rebekah has been serving in youth and college ministry since 2007. She has a Bachelors degree in Public Relations from Georgia Southern University, a Master of Divinity from Emmanuel Christian Seminary, and was recently licensed for pastoral ministry by the South Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. Rebekah feels a strong calling from God to ministry with young people. She and her family (husband Alex, a Registered Nurse, and their 4-month old baby, Elena Sunny) are excited to join their new church family at Trinity.

Hey new church family! The Savelands are excited for the new adventure God has set in front of us! We have been praying for God to lead us to a church where we can pour out ourselves in love and service specifically to young people, and we are so blessed to have found that place at Trinity. We will be coming to Gainesville in May ready to have some fun, do some teaching, do some serving & missioning, and do some spreading of the gospel with the awesome teenagers there! We cannot wait to get to know all the youth & parents as well as the rest of our new church family. We ask that you will pray for God to strengthen and guide our family, the church family we are leaving in South Carolina, and for Trinity as we go through this exciting transition to life in Gainesville. See y'all soon!!

Love,
Rebekah, Alex, and Elena Saveland
