Lockport to Larose Reach A2 & Claudet Levee Lift Project
The NLLD has contracted with Womack and Sons Construction Group for work that will increase flood protection along Reach A2 of the Lockport to Larose Levee system and the Claudet Return Levee.

The project includes reshaping of the levees and installation of borrowed embankment. It is expected to be complete in May 2018 .
Draft 2019 Coastal Plan Includes North Lafourche Projects

Louisiana's 2019 Draft Coastal Annual Plan will be presented to the LA Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority on February 21.

The draft plan includes over $7 million in funding for engineering and construction of several projects within the North Lafourche Levee District, including the Bayou Blue Hollywood Backwater Flood Protection Project and Thibodaux - Lockport - Bayou Blue, Element 2 Levee Improvements. The levee improvements run from the Coastal Pump station in Lockport to the Butch Hill Pump Station near Mathews on the west side of the bayou, protecting a large and growing population, Central Lafourche High School, St. Anne General Hospital and Lafourche Parish Government Offices.

Once adopted by the CPRA, the 2019 Annual Plan will be presented to the Legislature for final approval.

Project to Reinforce Levees from Lockport to Larose

A local levee district will begin reinforcing levees from Valentine to Larose in Lafourche Parish next month.
The North Lafourche Levee Conservation, Levee and Drainage District awarded the construction contract for the first phase of the project for $2.9 million, nearly $900,000 under budget.
In December, Executive Director Dwayne Bourgeois and
Board President Cory Kief participated in a tour and a series of meetings with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers officials. The NLLD remains actively engaged with the Corps to protect our people, our property, and our way of life.

About the NLLD
The North Lafourche Conservation, Levee, and Drainage District (known as NLLD) was formed in 1992 to provide drainage and flood protection services for the northern portion of Lafourche Parish, including the entire parish north of the Intracoastal Canal.   The District includes over 250 miles of levees and drainage canals, and over 40 pump stations.
