Draft 2019 Coastal Plan Includes North Lafourche Projects
Louisiana's 2019 Draft Coastal Annual Plan will be presented to the LA Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority on February 21.
The draft plan includes over
$7 million in funding
for engineering and construction of several projects within the North Lafourche Levee District, including the
Bayou Blue Hollywood Backwater Flood Protection Project and Thibodaux - Lockport - Bayou Blue, Element 2 Levee Improvements.
The levee improvements run from the Coastal Pump station in Lockport to the Butch Hill Pump Station near Mathews on the west side of the bayou, protecting a large and growing population, Central Lafourche High School, St. Anne General Hospital and Lafourche Parish Government Offices.
Once adopted by the CPRA, the 2019 Annual Plan will be presented to the Legislature for final approval.
