FEBRUARY FOR CHILDREN
Friday, March 2 at 6:00 p.m.Family Dinner and a Movie. Wonder (PG). Bring a picnic dinner (or grab a pizza from next door!) and come enjoy this new release. Not a drop off for kids under 12. Please register.

Friday, March 9 at 3:30 p.m. Afterschool Art Buddies. Younger kids will be paired up with older TAB kids to have an awesome afternoon creating art. Please register. Not a drop off for kids under 10, parents must stay in the building but do not need to be part of the program.

A BIG thank you to the Kent Garden Club, Karen Bussolini, John Scheepers Seeds, and all the program attendees of Karen's Herbal Liberation! Program on February 24th for all the wonderful seed donations to The Kent Seed Library. It is full of wonderful seeds to try out your green thumb!  Spring is on its way and it's time to do some simple seed starting. Start some lettuces and herbs, flowers, tomatoes, peppers and eggplant. Most seedlings can be germinated without too many fancy contraptions. A sunny south facing window and warm premium potting soil can get you started! Saturday, March 10 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Henna Workshop. The Kent Memorial Library is happy to present a series of workshops on the ancient art of henna. Henna is an ancient form of temporary body art used by cultures across India, northern Africa and the Middle East. Join henna artist Elyse Sadtler and learn how to draw beautiful henna designs on yourself, family and friends. Each class will focus on different design elements used to create beautiful henna art. Participants will receive their own henna cone to practice with during the class. Cost for each participant is $20 per class. Henna supplies will be available for sale after the class for those who wish to further their henna journey. Call the Library for more information.

As the chill of January fills the air and we enter the bleak days of winter, the staff at the Kent Memorial Library is happy to offer a diversion to make things nice and cozy.
Adults are invited to warm up with a good book this winter and win a chance at a book bag filled with items to keep you warm and toasty! Adults will fill out a ticket for each book they read or listen to (including eBooks). The winning ticket will be drawn on Wednesday, March 28. The more books you read or listen to, the better chances you have at winning the prize.

The Kent Memorial Library invites you to attend a very special afternoon with one of the country's most accomplished documentary filmmakers, Lynn Novick, co-director, with Ken Burns of the landmark PBS documentary series, The Vietnam War. Novick will share selected scenes and discuss the challenges of making the epic film as well as the response to it around the country and the world. Please register by April 10, 2018. The Vietnam War books & DVDs will be available to pre-purchase only when registering at the Library or online. Book: $60 & DVD: $99.95. Ms. Novick will be happy to sign them. All adults are invited to warm up with a good book this winter and win a chance at a book bag filled with items to keep you warm and toasty! Chess. Our chess boards and tables, inside and out are open to young and old, beginners to advanced. Team combinations are encouraged - for instance, grandparent and parent-child, co-workers, friends. All are welcome to use our chess equipment.
