Toastmasters Program in the Glades Meets
The world needs leaders. Leaders head families, coach teams, run businesses and mentor others. These leaders must not only accomplish, they must communicate. By regularly giving speeches, gaining feedback, leading teams and guiding others to achieve their goals in a supportive atmosphere, leaders emerge from the Toastmasters program. Every Toastmasters journey begins with a single speech. During their journey, they learn to tell their stories. They listen and answer. They plan and lead. They give feedback-and accept it. Through our community of learners, they find their path to leadership.

FRAC: Sign up for the #SNAPtoEndHunger Thunderclap
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the first line of defense against hunger in the U.S. This essential program that ensures millions of struggling Americans - including millions of children, seniors, people with disabilities, low-wage workers, and veterans - get the nutrition they need is under attack. We're asking advocates to call on the Senate and House Agriculture Committees to strengthen and protect SNAP in the upcoming Farm Bill. Thunderclap is a platform that allows social media users to share the same message at the same time to create a lot of noise around an issue. Think of it as a virtual rally where anyone with a Twitter or Facebook account can participate.

Informational Material Regarding Florida Medicaid Threat
From FL Voices for Health: "Over halfway done with the current legislative session, a serious threat to Florida Medicaid has emerged. The Florida Senate introduced a proposal to reduce Medicaid retroactive eligibility from 90 to 30 days. If a person is uninsured and has an accident or falls seriously ill, there's a chance, in Florida, to enroll for Medicaid after the fact. If you qualify for Medicaid, the program will pay your medical bills going back three months ... Advocacy on this issue will be critical over the next few weeks. Please share the call to action with your networks and stay tuned as more is shared over the next few days ..."
