MATH CLUB

Congratulations to the Math Club / Math Honor Society for taking home the 1st Place Team trophy in the B Division of Math Day at the Beach. This problem-solving festival, held by the CSULB Math Dept, involved students from over 40 Southern California high schools who love to problem-solve.   The multiple choice problems and team problem-solving emphasize creative thinking rather than purely computational skills. EQUESTRIAN

The Palos Verdes High School Equestrian Team did an amazing job this year at the Orange County Interscholastic Equestrian League shows, with all of our dedicated riders working hard to earn points for the team. Riders Sam Chelf and Arte Kosar each won the Freshman OCIEL Medal once, and Sophia Sanders took home the blue ribbon in a JV Medal as well. Sophomore Katherine Kemps also earned year end champion in the Varsity Hunter Under Saddle class. Lauren Hammond came in overall champion of the Gymkhana division, winning the most points in skill barrels, butterfly, four leaf clover and birangle. Sarah Buch was a close second, earning reserve champion with the most points in cow horse. Freshman Makenna Mottram was not far behind, finishing only 10 points behind Sarah and ending in third place overall. Our gymkhana girls truly killed it! In the world of dressage, Marianna Graziadio averaged the highest score in Freshman Training Level Test 2! Each and every member of the team helped us achieve the Reserve Champion Overall High School title this year with over 1000 points! Congrats girls!
