At Plum Creek we don’t have a student ministry, we ARE a student ministry. We ask our students to participate in the local church the same way as their parents – by serving, giving, inviting, and growing in their own relationship in Christ. Join us on

NEW SERMON SERIES BEGINS JANUARY 6TH

Money can be a monster… wreaking havoc and causing stress when we don’t take control of it. The good news is that we can take control of our money. We can manage it in a purposeful, God-honoring way. And what if we did? Marriages would be saved, families would be blessed, and people would begin to live abundant, peaceful, and joyful lives. Money stress is a leading reason that lives, marriages, and families self-destruct. And if you think it’s just you, you’re wrong. But together, we can make this monster listen. We can find freedom. We can find our way back to the life that God wants for all of us.

You aren’t random. You were created as a masterpiece. Even when you don’t feel like it, you’re still unique. And you, as a masterpiece, were made by an incredible Master. The idea of identity is a universal struggle. Every generation wrestles with it. Middle School students sit at a pivotal moment in their lives where they are constantly asking the question “Who am I?” A student can’t truly know who they are until they know who God is. And this year CIY’s Believe tour will help students understand what it means to find their identity in God.
COST:
$75 which is all inclusive (meals, registration & hotel)

Depending on when you’re reading this, you may find yourself at the end of 2018 or the beginning of 2019. Either way, I hope you and your family have had a blessed Christmas season and that you’ll have a great new year. I really appreciated our challenge at Plum Creek in December to put love into action. It’s been great to see many of you get involved with the WISH ministry by donating items, assembling care packages, or building relationships with international students. These are all practical ways to show the love of Christ.
So now, we have a whole year stretching out in front of us. What are we going to do with it? Will “Love Does” become just another series that our church went through, or will “Love Does” become a way of life? I know that most of us sincerely want to be consistent in showing compassion to others in the name of Jesus. However, that doesn’t happen without intentionality and strategic decisions. If we just allow this year to happen to us, we’ll get to the end and realize that we didn’t make the most of the opportunities God gave us.
So, let’s be intentional and strategic as a church. Let’s pray about how God is calling us to love, and then let Him lead us by His Spirit. Let’s look at the potential obstacles that could hold us back. I know that our finances can become an obstacle for many of us. We want to be more generous, but our current financial situation is just too stressful. Fortunately, we can seek God in this area of our lives, and we can find help and freedom.
In the month of January, we’ll be going through a series called “How to Make a Monster Listen.” It’s all about taking control of our money by giving control to God. As a follow up to this series, we’re once again offering Financial Peace University. FPU will start in February, so keep your eyes open for information.
I believe that God has great things in store for Plum Creek in 2019. I already know some of what’s coming, like our student ministry transitioning to Plum Creek North on Sunday nights. I’m also looking forward to an even greater emphasis on praying for “One”, and seeing our whole church become more equipped to reach out to your “One”. What’s most exciting, though, is what I don’t know about this coming year. Only God knows how He will work in us and through us. Our part is to be ready and willing. Let’s do it!
In Christ,
Doug
