The Lottery was completed Feb 22!
Our leadership team was present to hold our lottery to accept students for the 2018-2019 year. We are excited to welcome them into our schools and cant wait to meet all the new faces. We are equally excited to welcome back our returning students and are already making plans to make 2018-2019 and exciting and fruitful year. We encourage all parents to get involved in their PTO to volunteer and to actively be involved in our children's future.

STEM Festival
Stem Festival took place on February 10th from 11:00am- 2:00Ppm at our HSI Campus. Take a look at these amazing pictures of the festival (do not forget to tag yourself on the pics) and see what ABC and Univision had to say about our outstanding event!

Robotics Elementary team - got the FIRST place in
El Paso and was invited to Houston round that will be in April 18-21. Thank you to Ms. Ramirez and Ms. Goslee. Middle School team - They got the 2nd place Congratulations to MS. Marquez. High School Team - Our high school was one of the 8 teams who got qualified to Lubbock round that will be February 17th.Congrats to Coach Mr. Rivera. 

State Senator Rodriguez visited HSI! Our State Senator visited our school where he met with Staff and Students in an town hall setting to talk about our border, education and school safety. We thank him for taking the time to visit us, click on the next picture to see the Facebook pictures.

The biggest gift we can give our children is the opportunity to spend time with them take a look at our event schedule and participate on the events that you can with them. From fishing to leadership seminars to our STEM fest, find ways to get involved and spend quality time with your students, fellow parents, teachers and administrators.

Our very own VEX Robotics team, Team Torquke qualified for region and received excellence award and design award  🥇  
Congratulations guys and Mr.  Bayram Demirkazik  for your achievements. Mr. Demir students are lucky to have you as the VEX Robotics Coach, thank you!
Kindergarten Graduation

We will have kindergarten graduation on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 6:30 pm. Parents you can pick up tickets at the Front office. 3 tickets per student.

Congratulations to our Robotics Team !
 Ours Robotics Team/RoboTigers compete at the VEX IQ Robotics competition in San Antonio. RoboTigers earned 3rd place and won Robot Design Award. They qualified to compete at North Texas VEX IQ Middle School Ringmaster Regional Championship and South Texas VEX IQ Championship in February and March

Ha rmony Science Academy Lubbock is fundraising
Harmony Science Academy is a public charter school serving in Lubbock since 2007 with 375 students in grades PreK thru 8th grade. Harmony has started a school garden project last year and completed the first phase of the project with outdoor grow beds and fruit trees. Now we want to work on the second phase of the school garden project which includes a commercial grade all season greenhouse and an outdoor classroom. Both the greenhouse and the outdoor classroom will be used not only for gardening but also for other subjects like science, engineering, math, art, etc

20/20 Reading Challenge

149 students at Harmony Science Academy participated in the 20/20 Reading Challenge. Students read for 20 minutes a day for 20 days in order to complete the challenge. As a reward, we had a private screening of the movie Paddington Bear 2. "Today a reader, tomorrow a leader."

NATIONAL READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY (DR. SEUSS DAY) National Read Across America Day is an annual event that is part of Read Across America, an initiative on reading that was created by the National Education Association. Each year, National Read Across America Day is celebrated on March 2nd, the birthday of Dr. Seuss. Clifford The Big Red Dog will be at HSE on March 2! Get your kids excited about this reading event we will be holding at HSE.
Dear parents join us for the STAAR parent night on February 28th at 4 p.m., learn more about STAAR exam and testing strategies to help your children be successful on the STAAR test.

This is a very important event for your child and you as a family please join us.
