Well we finally have some significant weather in all growing regions. The freezing temperatures will bring a halt to the optimal growing conditions we have been experiencing. Suppliers have been two weeks ahead of harvesting schedules and disking fields due to lack of demand. We will definitely see a spike in the markets.

Asparagus
Mexico growing regions are still in peak production; this will continue for the next 2-3 weeks. Domestic asparagus has started in Gonzales, California. Their peak should start mid-March through the beginning of May. Overall markets are lower and quality is excellent!

Blueberries
Transition to domestic production will start by mid-March in Florida.

Broccoli
Supplies will start to decrease over the next few weeks. Much colder temperatures in all growing regions have currently affected supplies. The market will trend
higher as we experience this supply shortage. Quality this week is really.
Avoid use; Substitute with Asparagus or Brussels Sprouts.

Brussels Sprouts
Outstanding quality; good pricing.

ALERT!  Cauliflower
We are going to experience a supply gap for the next three weeks. All growing regions are experiencing much colder temperatures which have halted growth patterns. Quality has remained really nice.
Avoid use; Substitute with Asparagus or Brussels Sprouts.

Chili Peppers
Markets should become active during Lent. This will also create higher demand in Mexico, resulting in less supply making it's way to the US.

Limes
Poor growing conditions in southern Mexico are affecting the lime crop. Pricing is higher than normal, and is expected to remain so for a few weeks.
Roma Tomatoes
Mexico's harvest of Romas is unusually strong for this time of year.
Good pricing; excellent quality.

ALERT!  Yellow Squash
Wind-scarring and misshapen product is being reported.
Avoid use; opt for zucchini if possible.
