Learning about the KC Summers' Culture

"Treat every customer as if they were your mother, father or a sibling that you like." says Keith Summers, owner of KC Summers. Summers spoke to class about the history of this auto business and the changes in the auto industry. This business has decided to remain in downtown Mattoon and support its surrounding businesses.
Learning about Business Values

Dan Corrie, owner of Corrie Appraisals, discussed how location, recent sales, and other factors determine value of a property. Did you know that the average person only lives in a house between 5-7 years? We also learned the 3 D's - death, divorce and dissolution, which are reasons properties need to be valued.
Brainstorming Possibilities

A successful downtown needs three types of thriving businesses:  restaurants, retail and entertainment. We revisited Keith Summers at KC Summers to discuss ideas on how the Times Theatre building can be used as an entertainment venue if renovated. Many ideas were discussed and ClassE looks forward to this project!
