Marquette Catholic High School's first-ever virtual commencement ceremony aired Wednesday evening via the school's Facebook page and YouTube channel as the 57 members of the Class of 2020 were celebrated.
Principal Allyson Headd declared the welcome address before Aidan McDonnell delivered a speech on behalf of the students. Director of public relations Brad Collignon presented the graduates and senior Caitie Gately spoke about the future ahead for the Class of 2020.
Twenty-five members of Marquette's Class of 2020 graduated with summa cum laude distinction by virtue of a 4.00 cumulative grade-point average or higher. Those 25 students accrued an average of 27 dual-credit hours, including a class-high 36 achieved by three students. Overall, the 57 graduates tallied over $8,500,000 in combined scholarship dollars offered.
During their tenure at Marquette, students traveled to China, France, Italy, Greece, and Spain.
For ten straight years, each member of Marquette's graduating class received acceptance into at least one college or university.
