Parents Can Now Use Canvas to Access Classroom Assignments, Events
EMS ISD is excited to announce that parents can now use Canvas as a digital window into their students' classrooms.
Canvas is an Online Learning Management System currently used in EMS ISD by teachers and students. Many teachers use Canvas to post assignments and events for their classes. It has recently been updated to allow parents to create their own accounts. Through this account, parents will become observers to their students' classes, assignments, and events.
To create an account, you need to go to the Canvas login page. You can use the shortcut on our district website under the Parents tab, or go directly to emsisd.instructure.com. Each district across the country has its own login page, so be sure you see our EMS logo. To create an account, click the link that says "Click here for account," then you can enter your name and email address. You will also need to enter your child's Canvas username and password to associate their information with your account. Please check with your child for this information.
We are excited to be able to provide this resource to parents as partners in your child's education.
For more information and sign up steps, please watch our
introductory video to Canvas
