Brant Wildlife Festival

March 19 to April 28, 2018
The Nature Trust of BC is working with community organizations and volunteers on the 2018 Brant Wildlife Festival on mid-Vancouver Island in March and April. The festival celebrates nature, especially Brant geese as they stop to rest and feed during their migration to their northern nesting grounds.  Events include wildlife viewing, spring break nature camps for kids, marsh tours, a bioblitz and more. 

The Nature Trust is hosting Dr. Holly Middleton who will be speaking about grazing birds on April 14 from 6 to 8 p.m. in Parksville.  ickets are $10 per person and available by calling 1-866-288-7878 or e-mailing [email protected]

Meadowlark Festival

Join The Nature Trust of BC's Carl MacNaughton and Nick Burdock for a McIntyre Bluff/
nʕaylintn Hike on Friday, May 18 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of the annual Meadowlark Festival. Enjoy a spectacular view and learn about conservation holdings, a variety of flora and fauna, and the cultural significance of this site as you hike to one of the Okanagan's best settings. 

Please note: this is a strenuous hike for physically fit people.

In addition, there will be a number of other hikes on Nature Trust lands including a Twin Lakes Walk and Sagebrush Wildflowers & Butterflies plus other events.

Park Rill Creek Tour

Mark your calendar to join us for a walk in the White Lake Basin (southwest of Penticton in the Okanagan) on  June 2, 2018  to learn about a new property at Park Rill Creek that we are fundraising to acquire. 

This event includes a presentation followed by a 20 minute guided tour. Bring good walking footwear and all weather clothing, including a hat and sunscreen.
Refreshments will be provided. 

The cost is $10 per person and registration is required

Bird Congress
Vancouver is delighted to welcome ornithologists from around the world to the 27th International Ornithological Congress August 19 to 26, 2018.

The Vancouver International Bird Festival will be taking place during the same week and  The Nature Trust is pleased to be involved.  The festival offers bird-related walks, talks, exhibitions and lectures-and most are free.  Visit  www.vanbirdfest.com for more information.
