Maddie Velez, a school counselor at DC 21, celebrates with students who just applied to college during our DPS College Application Week.
Thank You to Our School Counselors

Dear Teachers,

This week is National School Counseling Week, our opportunity to give a "thank you" to our counselors who we know play such an important role in our kids' education.

Our counselors work tirelessly to help students create goals and uncover their passions as they navigate college and career options, fill out scholarship applications and prepare for the SAT college entrance exam, as well as connect them with resources along with supporting their social/emotional needs.

Watch this DPS Features video highlighting how our counselors ease the high school transition -- even years later.

Thank you, counselors! Because of your work, DPS students are healthier, happier and achieving their dreams.

Warm regards,
Susana

Academic Portal Revitalization Process Coming Soon
Teachers should be aware that the Academic Portals will undergo a redesign beginning in the late spring of 2018 and into the 2018-19 school year. This includes the Principal, Teacher, Parent and Student portals. This redesign is a result of feedback from multiple users, including school leaders, teachers, parents, students and school-support team members. Feedback is being integrated to improve the portals, especially around navigation, load speeds and functionality. A team of DPS staff is guiding this change to ensure you are informed and supported. More information will be shared over the next several months. Share your thoughts and questions regarding this project to help inform future communications. If you have questions, contact Megan Marquez.
