Executive Leadership Update
Earlier this week, Tree Trust sent out a special announcement regarding a leadership transition at Tree Trust.

Norm Champ, who has served as the Executive Director of Tree Trust for the last five years, has announced his decision to retire this spring after spending his entire career at the St. Louis Park based nonprofit.

Tree Trust's board of directors is launching a search for a new executive director. Read the full announcement here
YACC Graduation
On Wednesday November 29, participants in our Young Adult Conservation Corps celebrated their graduation from the program with a lunch and presentation at Tree Trust. Paullie, Malik, Ivette, Javier, Johnny, and Tyereh were given awards by their Crew Leaders for their unique contributions to the crew, and participants said a few words about their time in the program.
Paullie, who completed his third and final YACC cohort this year, said a few words: "I liked that Tree Trust transformed my life, just like the logo says. It made me a better person than I was in March, a better employee. I will take the skills I learned forward."

Tree Trust is proud of all that these YACC participants have accomplished, and we look forward to seeing the progress made by those who are continuing on in the program.

Montia's Next Steps
You may remember our profile
of Montia, who joined our JobPrep program early this year. After joining, Montia immediately began working with her case manager to accomplish her goals. When we last interviewed her for a story, Montia had just stabilized her living situation for herself and her infant twins, and found daycare for them. She had also just started taking classes at the Aveda Institute.

This last week, Montia  officially completed all of her hours at Aveda! She's now applying for her license so she can be a licensed  cosmetologist! Her case manager was able to attend the ceremony at Aveda, where Montia rang a gong to signify she had completed all of her training! We are proud of all that Montia has achieved so far, and are excited to see where she is going next!
