What roles do cooperation and community play in evolution? In science broadly? What does that mean for Humanists and the Humanist community?
Join us for a Darwin Day talk and celebration with Angela DePace, Associate Professor of Systems Biology at Harvard Medical School, cosponsored by the Greater Boston Humanists.
Angela will discuss a central question of her research in evolutionary developmental biology: how can the same molecular toolkit can be used to build different individuals and organisms? Part of the answer lies in how molecules cooperate with one another, and how together, they build larger systems. Science is conducted by individual people, who also must cooperate individually and together build institutions. Angela will also ask, how do our core values motivate us to engage with science and with each other? And how are our core values reflected in our scientific institutions and professional practice?
She invites the community to an open conversation about how revisiting and defining our moral code could improve the quality and equality of science. After, we'll enjoy some Darwin Day festivities!

member of the Hub is in need. We will be conducting a one day food drive this Sunday to assist the family of a member of our community. Soups, canned goods, nonperishables, eggs, bread and any sort of frozen meals and frozen foods would be greatly appreciated.
