    Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah & Kwanzaa to all!
     At this time of the year we celebrate with family and friends with love and generosity. It is a joyful time of year and can also be a difficult time. We learn in yoga that life is filled with suffering and happiness. How can we spread more joy in the world? We can begin with ourselves. Take time this month to come to yoga classes. Quiet your mind, relax and rejuvenate your body, reduce the stresses of everyday with deep breathing and a focus inward. Then take a look outside of yourself to help others.

Donate a coat to children without one 
This year join us as we give back to the community in the form of a donation class on New Year's Day. All proceeds will go to help fund the building of a recovery high school for those adolescents with substance abuse disorder  in the state of Delaware. See below for more information.

     I f you are a Yoga teacher interested in sharing your time and talents and care for others then the YES Training course is for you. The purpose of YES is to help as many people as possible, through Yoga, meditation and many other tools to find health and happiness in their lives.

Great News!  Monique is already certified as a MELT Level 1 & 2 instructor and a Neurostrength instructor! Erin is certified as a MELT level 1 instructor. Both are so excited to try new techniques to help you relieve pain, achieve more, and find optimal posture!   
      
Why MELT?  
This is a gentle and pleasant self acupressure technique.  It relieves "stuck stress" in the body that comes with repetitive movements or working in a desk job.  It is one of the most effective ways to gently relieve chronic pain and to improve posture!

Functional Movement Assessment
This special class will help you to assess your mobility and strength with the specific goal of avoiding injury and pain in your day to day activities. The test includes: Posture, Breath, Differentiation of the 5 movements of the spine, the hips and the shoulder blades, Stability of the spine, Core Strength, Balance, Leg Strength, Upper Body Strength.
Differentiation refers to the ability to move one body mass separate from other body masses.

Therapeutic yoga classes at Liberty Yoga have specific goals to help individuals stay mobile and feeling good in their bodies. What areas do you need to work on?
   
Functional Movement classes with Erin will be held most Sundays from 9:30 - 11:30 am.  See the online schedule and sign up in advance. These special $25 workshops offer Yoga Alliance CEC's and are tailored to the specific folks who sign up.
