Stay up to date!
From Sunday:

This may come as a surprise to you, but John the Baptist did not tell people to go on shopping sprees in preparation for Christmas.
Instead he told people to work while they wait for Jesus to come. There is no mention of purchasing gifts to celebrate Christmas.
One thing I have realized over the last few years is that a commercialized, materialistic Christmas does not make me happy. If I spend money I don't have on gifts that are trendy and perhaps not really wanted, have I really had a good Christmas? If I get a bunch of stuff, will that make me happy? What I need to do is focus on what Christmas is really about.

En Agape',
Rev. Michael

"Ashland At Home (AAH) is neighbors helping neighbors live in their own homes and staying engaged in our community as long as possible. AAH is based on the "village" model that is serving tens of thousands of adults across the U.S. The model, developed by neighbors living in the Beacon Hill area of Boston, provides services to support members to continue living in their homes as they age."

Lifeline Screening coming to Slash in February

Life Line Screening, a leading provider of community-based preventive health screenings will be in our community on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Slash Christian Church. Ultrasound screenings to identify risk factors for Cardiovascular disease include; Carotid Artery (plaque buildup-a leading cause of stroke), Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (an enlargement or weak area in the main blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body), Peripheral Arterial Disease (hardening of the arteries in the legs), a Heart Rhythm Screening (an EKG to detect Atrial Fibrillation-irregular heartbeat) and an Osteoporosis Risk Assessment for men and women. Being proactive about your health by knowing your risks helps you and your doctor address problems early.
