Digestive Health Monthly - December 2017

As we near the end of 2017, we  are reminded of all that we have to be thankful for. Of the many things that we are grateful for this year, we are most thankful for YOU!

We are grateful for all of your efforts over the past year to learn more about functional gastrointestinal (GI) and motility disorders. We thank you for your efforts to raise awareness on behalf of individuals and families affected by these life-altering conditions. We thank all of you who advocate and who fundraise or contribute to support education and research to better understand causes, improve treatments, and someday find cures for these many digestive conditions. We thank all of you who share your personal story on our website, providing hope and encouragement to others.

From all of us at IFFGD, we wish you the very best in the coming New Year.

Why Do FODMAP Lists Differ?
Dietitian and author, Patsy Catsos, explains

Originating from Monash University in Australia, the low FODMAP diet proposes that this group of short-chain carbohydrates  can be problematic in some with IBS and other digestive conditions, such as IBD.

But, lists of high and low FODMAP foods sometimes differ from one another, which can cause confusion.

Read on to discover why from dietitian and author, Patsy Catsos.

Give the Gift of Digestive Health

For those living with a chronic digestive condition, there are often more questions than answers:
  • What causes these conditions?
  • What's the best treatment for me?
  • Where is the cure?
This Holiday Season, help us find the answers by giving to support research into these often debilitating and misunderstood conditions. With your gift, you become part of the research process - the process that advances science, fosters hope, and changes lives.

IFFGD is a nonprofit organization. We rely on donor support to fund research and to provide reliable information and support to those affected by functional gastrointestinal and motility disorders.
