Madison's Story
Madison had waited all week for it to be Friday because she knew that on Fridays she received a backpack full of food through the Great Plains Food Bank BackPack Program. But one Friday was at the end of a particularly long week and shortly after receiving her backpack she went missing. The school needed to be placed on lockdown. They eventually found her. She had locked herself in the janitor's closet and was there eating the food from the backpack. She was so hungry she couldn't make it any longer. The Great Plains Food Bank recently received an incredible anonymous donation of a truck, funding and commitment of volunteers for the organization's BackPack Program. Learn more.

A total of 8,629 gallons of milk were supplied to the Great Plains Food Bank and North Country Food Bank from the Great American Milk Drive. Learn more.

In celebration of a $15,000 produce grant through Disney, WDAY News employees spent time volunteering inside the Great Plains Food Bank warehouse.
