MAKING AN IMPACT...

A 70 year old female was referred to Marshfield Area Respite Care Center (MARCC) to increase her activity levels and also to enrich her socialization skills. She had been placed in a community based residential facility (CBRF) following a decline in memory ability and an illness. She had mild memory loss so she was in need of more interaction than her small CBRF could provide for her. At MARCC she cooks, plays games, greets others, sings, dances and uses her many decorating and drawing skills. She feels included and ownership toward the center, staff and other participants attending. She shares her joys and sorrows both present and past. She truly has been a success by any measure.

Marshfield Area Respite Care Center (MARCC), a United Way partner program, provides care and socialization for individuals diagnosed with Parkinson's, Alzheimer's disease and other dementia in a safe and supportive environment.   .
