" Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
- Philippians 4:6
Dear fellow alumni,

“Don’t worry about it!” That’s what my dad always said when things seemed to be spinning out of control. He had a certain peace about life that came from faith in Jesus Christ, and turning things over to our Lord in prayer.

Your prayers and support have been a real source of peace and encouragement. Thank you so much! We are additionally blessed by new and returning students who have enrolled for the fall semester. We anticipate welcoming even more students than last year!

With Christ first in everything, Concordia has been spending the summer developing plans to face COVID-19, racial justice, and more. As alumni, our voices, talents, prayers, and support are vital for the mission to continue at CUAA. Please send me an email or give me a call to volunteer, refer a potential student, make a gift, or share a prayer request.

Although our buildings are closed for the summer, our campus grounds are open for you to stop by, take a walk, and remember the great times and friendships of your college days. The beauty found here (just look at that cover photo!) brings peace in our hearts that only God can give. You are always welcome here.

Peace be with you!

You are changing lives
We are grateful for our Concordia family who support our mission and students. Because of their financial help, our students have an opportunity to develop in mind, body, and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and the world. Sean Sheppard, Class of 2021, is one of those students destined to make a difference in this world. Take a look at Sean's story here .

'Why I put on my mask
with a smile'
"My glasses still fog, and my face still gets hot, but wearing my mask is an opportunity to protect the health of others and make them feel safe and comfortable. That’s something to smile about." - Rev. Theodore Hopkins, PhD, CUAA’s pre-seminary director

Take a look at this take on wearing a mask in public.
Have you named Concordia
in your will?
The long days of staying home have allowed many alumni to complete their estate planning. If you have included Concordia in your will, we would love to hear from you so we can properly document your gift intentions. Want to know more about how to remember Concordia in your estate? Please email Linda Sproul or give her a call (734) 995-7491.

Thoughts from
Campus Pastor Randy Duncan
This month, we thought we would share Pastor Duncan's Fourth of July prayer:

“Heavenly Father, on this  Independence Day , we declare that we desperately live in dependence upon You. Our nation’s founding fathers acknowledged that in You, our Creator God, we all 'are created equal' and that You are the ultimate source of life, liberty, and happiness for all.

We too easily have forgotten these self-evident truths, forgotten You, and forgotten each other. In your mercy, look with compassion on our nation; remove our arrogance and hatred that poisons our hearts; demolish the walls that separate us; unite us in bonds of love and understanding; and work through our struggle and confusion to produce beauty from ashes.

We humble ourselves before you and ask that you forgive our sin and heal
our land for the sake of Your Son, Jesus, who has set us free indeed from the bondage of sin, death, and the power of the devil.

Bind us together, Lord, with cords of love and peace that cannot be broken. Give us courage and strength to be your people of light and reconciliation, so that our beloved nation might be for all and ever that land of the free and home of the brave.

In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
