INWED 2018 Launch

The Women's Engineering Society (WES) is proud to launch

The theme this year is 'Raising the Bar', which is our invitation to you to show the world how you are making positive change in what you do and how you do it. Whether professionally, through studying or perhaps by creating a more diverse workplace. We want to hear from individuals and organisations making both large strides and small steps to raise awareness. We hope to see l ots of people and organisations demonstrating how they will be #RaisingTheBar for #INWED18 through events, activities and social media. As in previous years we are expecting a plethora of female talent to be showcased and to see a huge number of events for people to participate in worldwide.

This year is also the 'Year of Engineering' and 100 years since (some) women were given the vote - today is the 100th anniversary of the Representation of the People Act 1918 which brought this change in the law into force! So 2018 is particularly poignant and we are excited to see how this might influence your #INWED18 celebrations either on Saturday 23 June or in the weeks leading up to, or following the day. We hope you will be taking part!

2018 also sees a new theme for the Top 50 Women in Engineering in partnership with The Telegraph - Transferrers and Returners. More information will be provided about this in subsequent communications. If you, or someone you know fits this category and can provide inspiration to others, please do consider nominating either yourself or another person when nominations open.

Now it is time to start planning for
#INWED18  -  Saturday 23 June 2018
Theme: #RaisingTheBar

With your help and commitment, we hope to bring INWED18 to even greater audiences, within the UK and across the globe, from classrooms to boardrooms, lecture theatres to local community centres - celebrating the present, and inspiring the upcoming generations of women engineers.
