Cricket on the Hearth - A Free Performance to the Community

Cricket on the Hearth (Live Radio Show) will be presented at Garrison Players this holiday season, directed by Judy Currie. Opening weekend is performed free of charge as our gift to the community. Patrons will be seated at a first come, first serve basis, and are asked to help share the joy of the season by bringing nonperishable items to the performance which will be donated to the local food pantries in Dover, Rollinsford and South Berwick.

Living Well Through Advent "Practicing Wonder With All Your Heart, Soul, Strength, and Mind"
Sunday Evenings on Dec. 11, & 17th, 5-7pm
St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 5 Hale Street, Dover
FREE and open to all denominations. You will receive a free booklet with daily reflections to take you through Advent. The Advent resource has been designed to help develop a deeper connection between faith and our capacity to practice Wonder. We will use the Sunday Gospel readings and the Reflections for each Sunday and Monday. The rest of the week you will read and reflect individually.
Come for one or all three of the weeks of this Advent program. We will start each session with a shared pot-luck meal (simple soups) followed by discussion, prayer and a time to Wonder about the Christmas season.

With a cavalcade of colorful Dickensian characters and a ghostly quartet of guardians, "A Christmas Carol" is the perfect way to get you into the Christmas spirit. This new adaptation has something for everyone, both young and old.
The Opera House will be complimenting the shows with fun activities for children and families. There will be caroling, ornament decoration, cookies, cocoa, and a visit from Santa himself! The Opera House is the place to be for your family and friends during the holiday season.

Creekman Planning Icy Swim for Children's Charity

This year, for his 10th annual swim, his sights are set on helping hospitalized children nationwide by dedicating his journey to the Ukulele Kid's Club. The UKC donates ukuleles to hospitalized children and is a leading advocate for music therapy programs worldwide. Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, NH, Elliott Hospital, DHMC, Boston Children's Hospital, The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital in Portland, ME and Anna Jaques Hospital in Amesbury, MA are currently beneficiaries of the UKC's efforts. While the year is wrapping up, it's a great time to complete a few things as well as prep for the new year. If computer classes are in the works for you, Dover Adult Learning Center has advanced Excel and MS Word classes in December: "Excel Basics 3B" on Friday, December 8, 1-4pm, covers advanced and nested functions, multiple workbooks, and scenarios/what-if analysis; and "MS Windows" on Friday, December 15, 1-4pm, shows how to create, arrange, and find files and folders. Or perhaps you'd like to learn a new hobby, such as wire-wrapping techniques to add stones, beads, and other embellishments to a "Stone Charm Bracelet" on Monday, December 4, 6-8pm (workshop fee of $60 includes all materials to make one silver bracelet).
