Ground Beef: Your Best Helper In The Kitchen

Did you catch our sale on ground beef and stock up? Here are some delicious and warming recipes that use ground beef!

Everyone has their favorite chili recipe, but this one from Ree Drummond makes a weeknight dinner a breeze to pull together.

If you've ever been lucky enough to have meatballs at Rao's in East Harlem, you know these are the best! Now, you can make them at home, thanks to the New York Times. (This recipe does use veal and pork, in addition to beef. Feel free to substitute all beef--it'll be just as delicious.)

Taco Tuesdays are a family hit but skip the store-bought taco seasoning and make your own, included in this recipe for beef tacos from Mel's Kitchen Cafe.

We can't forget about meatloaf, but why not give your meatloaf a middle eastern touch by trying this recipe for beef kibbe

Our ground beef is currently on sale for $6.50/LB!

Coming Soon: Blue Eggs

Keep an eye out for blue eggs in your order! These pretty eggs are laid by Ameraucanas, Aurancanas and Cream Legbars. Our blue eggs come from Ameraucanas! The blue color comes from a naturally occuring pigment in these breeds called  oocyanin. Because the pigment appears early in the formation process, the shell is blue through and through.

Want to save a blue egg for display? It's easy! Shake the egg up to "scramble" the yolk and whites, then use a pushpin or needle to poke a hole in the top and the bottom. Holding the egg over a bowl, just blow into the hole to force the yolk and whites out. Let the empty shell air-dry. For further preservation, you can apply a clear varnish or clear nail polish to the outside!
