Next Wednesday 12/13 is a 9:30 a.m. Late Start Day!
Raven Report: Dec. 6, 2017
Winter Weather: Snow Days & Delayed Start Policies

Dear Summit Community,

With winter approaching, I would like to provide you with information regarding school closing and/or late start due to inclement weather. A decision to close school or delay the start of the school day will be made as early in the morning as possible, and no later than  6:45 a.m. Please note that, in accordance with current school policy, consideration may be given to starting the school day at  10:00 a.m., when feasible.

Closing or a delayed start will be communicated through TV and radio media, posted on The Summit website and Facebook page, and communicated through email, text message, and voice message on the school phone. Teachers will provide information regarding "at home" activities through their respective class blogs. In the event of "back-to-back" or extended cancellations, teachers will update the activities information each morning by  8:45 a.m

In the event of inclement weather that is NOT deemed serious enough to cancel school but creates a situation where it may not be possible for you to safely make it to school, perhaps due to the location of your home, use your parental good judgment. Absences or late arrivals due to difficult road conditions will be considered "excused". DRIVE SAFELY!

Rest assured that I will exercise good judgment when considering a school closing or delayed start to the school day, always keeping in mind, first and foremost, the well-being of our Summit community members.

Robert E. Gronniger
Head of School

The Summit Parent Organization (SPO) would like to build the relationships within The Summit community by offering families with businesses the opportunity to list their business in the Summit Business Directory. This will allow us to support one another through referrals and patronage.

This information can also be access through The Summit website at  http://www.thesummitprep.org/family/.

Participation is completely optional and free of charge. Additionally, teachers are excited at the prospect of the Business Directory to have as a reference for potential guest speakers in their classrooms &/or field trip opportunities.
