Feed My Starving Children - This Saturday - 9:00-11:00AM

We still need 8 people!!!

Christ Church will travel to Libertyville to help Feed My Starving Children. We have decided to carpool instead of spending the money on tour buses.  We will gather in the parking lot of Christ Church behind the 470 Maple Street address at 7:45AM or meet us at 742 E. Park Ave, Libertyville. We will leave promptly at 8AM.  We will return at noon. We committed to bring 40 people.

More importantly for us, they accept volunteers as young as 5 when accompanied by an adult.  This means that for families with small children, this can be an event that everyone can participate in together.

Why We Pray the Way We Pray When We Pray:
Liturgy of the Word
Go to a Shabbat service at a synagogue on Friday night, you might be surprised to discover how familiar it feels.  We have adapted Jewish rituals back to the time of Solomon's Temple.  We have also adapted pieces of our service from the Greek Mystery Religions from Jesus's day.  This portion of our program will cover from the Opening sentences to the Peace.

6:15PM - Compline in Church
6:30PM - Supper
7:00PM - Program
7:45PM - Dismissal (in time for 8:00PM Choir Practice)

Wrap & Roll Caroling Party This Sunday - 4:00-7:30

It's (almost) that time of year! Mark your calendars and call your family and friends-the caroling party is around the corner. Thrown by the youth and parents of our congregation, we will wrap presents for the homeless, eat dinner (and Christmas cookies!) together, sing carols, and get a visit from St. Christopher-I mean St. Nicholas! It's a great time to celebrate with your church family and introduce your friends and relatives to our church community. There's a recommended donation of $15/person and $30 total per family, but no need to RSVP. The more the merrier, so save the date!
Still Time to Donate to St. Leonard's and St. Andrew's Court
This Sunday we are still collecting NEW Sweatshirts, Sweatpants and Thermal  Underwear Sets (Tops and Bottoms) for men who are preparing for the cold Chicago winter as they rebuild their lives after prison.

We are about halfway to our goal of 82 of each in sizes XL, XXL and XXXL.

Please bring your donations to church this Sunday. You can also drop them off in the Church Office by Wednesday, December 13.

OR...if you'd like donate but don't have time to shop, you can make a donation labeled for "Sweatshirts" and the Christmas Angels Committee will do your shopping for you!
Do a Little Christmas Shopping, Do a Lot of Good for People in Need
This Sunday after both services, come to the Prevost Cloister to purchase beautiful ornaments that have been handmade by our youth to benefit the Christmas Angels ministry.

These make special Holiday Hostess Gifts, and Christmas gifts for teachers -- especially Sunday School teachers --  and those people on your list who are impossible to shop for.   Every dollar you spend will be used by the Christmas Angels Shoppers to provide warm winter necessities and gifts for the hundreds of people in need that we provide for at Christmas.

Christmas Gifts for Flowers and Music
Please click on the link below and return with a check to the Parish Office. Gifts  received by December 14 will be listed in the Christmas printed program.
