Dear Friends & Colleagues,

As we approach the new year, the environmental challenges we face remain dire.  In just the last few months we've witnessed one of the most devastating hurricane seasons on record and deadly wildfires throughout California.  Looking forward to 2018 and beyond, we know that our changing climate will increase the frequency of extreme events like these in ways that we are struggling to anticipate.
At CLEE, we are committed to shaping effective policies to address these challenges.  From an analysis of market based solutions to manage California's groundwater to an examination of policy options for expanding the adoption of zero emission vehicles, CLEE has been a leading voice in environmental law and policy in 2017.

Our team continues to grow and our reach continues to expand.  In the past year we have convened a workshop on the role of artificial intelligence in environmental regulation and welcomed our first senior fellow focused on transitioning fossil-fuel dependent states toward long-term environmental sustainability.

Next year we will continue offering timely policy guidance in our work to model a sustainable city block in Oakland and modernize water data for California, among a number of other ongoing projects.

As a self-supported research center, we rely on your contributions to continue this work.  When you donate, you not only support our major research initiatives, you also enable our work with students and our ability to rapidly respond to new environmental challenges.

If you share these goals, please consider making a gift so that we can continue to be a policy leader in the fight to ensure a healthy planet for future generations.

Wishing you the best this holiday season,
