All Healdsburg Businesses Qualify for
SBA Disaster Recovery
APPLICATION DEADLINES:
  • Physical Property Damage: December 11, 2017
  • Unemployment Benefits: December 18, 2017
  • Economic Injury: July 12, 2018

The U.S. Small Business Administration and the Napa/Sonoma Small Business Development Center opened a business recovery center in Santa Rosa to provide a wide range of services to businesses impacted by the wildfires that began Oct 8, 2017.

“Due to the severe property damage and economic losses the wildfires inflicted on businesses in California, we want to provide every available service to help get them back on their feet,” said Director Tanya N. Garfield of SBA’s Disaster Field Operations Center-West. “The center will provide a one-stop location for businesses to access a variety of specialized help. SBA customer service representatives and SBDC business advisors will be available to meet individually with each business owner,” she added. No appointment is necessary. All services are provided free of charge.

SONOMA COUNTY
Business Recovery Center
The Courtyard
141 Stony Circle, Suite 155
Santa Rosa, CA 95401
Mondays - Fridays, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

“SBA customer service representatives will meet with each business owner to explain how an SBA disaster loan can help finance their recovery. They will answer questions about SBA’s disaster loan program, explain the application process and help each business owner complete their electronic loan application,” Garfield said.

According to Napa/Sonoma SBDC Director Mary Cervantes, SBDC business advisors at the center will provide business assistance to clients on a wide variety of matters designed to help small business owners re-establish their operations, overcome the effects of the disaster and plan for their future. “Services include assessing business working capital needs, evaluating the business’s strength, cash flow projections, and most importantly, a review of options with the business owner to help them evaluate their alternatives and make decisions that are appropriate for their situation,” she said.

According to Garfield, businesses of any size and private, nonprofit organizations may borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets. These loans cover losses that are not fully covered by insurance or other recoveries.

For small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture, and most private, nonprofit organizations of any size, SBA offers Economic Injury Disaster Loans to help meet working capital needs caused by the disaster. EIDL assistance is available regardless of whether the business suffered any property damage.

Business owners may also apply online using SBA’s secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela or get help from SBA representatives at any Disaster Recovery Center in Texas. Disaster loan information is also available from SBA’s Customer Service Center by calling (800) 659-2955 or emailing disastercustomerservice@sba.gov . Individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing may call (800) 877 8339. For more disaster assistance information, visit http://www.sba.gov/disaster . Completed applications should be mailed to U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155.

Wow! A New Website!
Thanks to a lot of hard work from Brian Kreck and his team at Kreck Design we have a beautiful new website at Healdsburg.com Aleena Decker is our IT go to, and she is responsible for helping to make the site so pretty with photos from Barbara Bourne , Kim Carroll, and Natasha McGuire . Aleena can also help you if you want to post to the website calendar, upgrade your listing or make changes to your business profile. Our previous website served us well, but we knew that it was starting to get creaky and since it wasn’t mobile friendly it wasn’t functioning for a large segment of users. The new site is prettier and more functional. Please visit and let us know what you think. We are always open to suggestions for additions.

Do the Twisst
Many were sad to see the retirement of Natalee Tappin and the closing of her long time business, The Healdsburg Dog House. But, like Natalee, we are thrilled to welcome Shelley Gilbert and the opening of her new women's athleisure wear store, Twisst. The store offers fashionable work out clothing and everyday casual wear from fun patterned leggings and skorts to comfy sweaters and head-wear.

Be sure to do the Twisst this season and head over to Twisst at 212 Healdsburg Avenue!
Healdsburg District Hospital Hires Family Medicine Physician, Doctor Alice Tse
Healdsburg District Hospital (HDH) welcomes Family Medicine Physician, Dr. Alice Tse, to the staff at Healdsburg Physician Group. Dr. Tse brings more than 18 years of family medicine experience, working with patients of all ages, primarily adolescents to adults.

Dr. Tse was most recently a Family Medicine physician with the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group in Santa Rosa. Her varied medical background includes numerous years working with medical facilities in rural Alaska. While working with Maniilaq Health Center, a modern 17 bed hospital located above the Arctic Circle, Dr. Tse was a critical air ambulance provider and regional emergency room director and EMS/Medevac sponsoring physician.

Board Certified with the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM), Dr. Tse is a graduate of Cornell University who then received her Medical Degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Her residency was with Brown University, Department of Family Medicine at Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island.

A physician in Family Medicine provides care to all age groups as the point of first contact, and takes continuing responsibility for providing the patient's comprehensive care. This care may include chronic, preventive and acute care. Family Medicine physicians are specifically trained to provide comprehensive primary care services through residency or fellowship training in acute and chronic care settings.

"We are delighted to have Dr. Tse join our medical team at Healdsburg Physician Group. Her Family Medicine experience working with patients of all ages will be a benefit to our patients and the communities we serve." said Joseph Herrington, Interim CEO of HDH.
