Hamilton Education Program

The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History awarded Sacred Heart High School's US History students a place in the prestigious Hamilton Education Program. Students analyzed the principles and policies of the founding of the US in collaboration with Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton. Each then wrote an original performance piece based on their studies.

As a culminating event, the Junior Class and some Seniors attended a matinee performance of Hamilton on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood!

Congratulations Class of 2019!!!

Junior Class Ring Ceremony

Junior year is the year students most anticipate. Not because we are one year away from becoming seniors but because it is the year we become Upper Class Women. You always hear people say that the Junior Year is the most important year and I find that to be very true. Becoming an Upper Class Woman means to be a role model to younger generations. To represent the transition to Upper Class Women, Juniors receive a special Class Ring. On November 9, 2017 our Juniors received their Class Ring.

The Junior Ring Ceremony is preceded by the Junior Retreat, where Juniors grow closer to one another through their faith in God. The Junior Ring is a special representation of the school and also a symbol of our class bond that is unbreakable. The Junior Ring Ceremony is about receiving our sparking rings, but it goes beyond that. It represents the formal installation of becoming the next Senior Class and roll-models  to our Comet Sisters.

Congratulation to the Class of 2019 for your accomplishments. Continue to w ork towards your goals. Your leadership will make a difference as you stay close to the Lord.
Living in Service

As we begin the Advent Season and prepare for the coming of our Saviour we look at all of our blessings and strive to share them with others in need.

In preparing for Christmas our Sacred Heart family is joining together to make this a special time for those in need. Our Alumnae and students continue to live in the Dominican Tradition of service to the young, the poor and vulnerable.

Student Toy Drive
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul and Sacred Heart High School are teaming up once again to help bring toys to families in need this Christmas! In addition to students bringing the new unwrapped toys to their Religion Classes attendees of the popular Praise Night are asked to bring toys to the December 8th event.

Alumnae Toy Drive
During the 9th Annual Alumnae Christmas Celebration, "Coming Home" alumnae collected toys for the children of the Sacred Heart Parish Community. Once again the toys are shared with Sacred Heart Church for the annual toy give away on Christmas Morning.

Giving Tuesday

Thank you to all our alumnae, parents, and friends who participated in "Giving Tuesday". The 33 gifts received this year totaled $2,839 for the Comet Scholarship Fund. This amount was matched, therefore the total received was $5,678!!!

May the Lord bless your generosity to us!

To participate in the empowerment of "Tomorrow's Catholic Woman" today:

Tomorrow's results are created by today's dreamers. Many people dream of a way to leave a legacy that would help Sacred Heart High School grow into the future. Some find that a good way to accomplish this goal is to designate Sacred Heart as the beneficiary of all or part of a retirement plan or life insurance policy. For further information, please contact  our Office of Alumnae and Development at (323) 225-2209.
