A Place to Connect

Katie Zenger and Stephen Zenger
Stephen Zenger, a former geophysicist, instilled in his daughter Katie a deep love of science, a passion that has guided her career in public health research. "He always encouraged me to be exactly who I was," she said. "I could not have asked for a better father."

Then FTD completely changed his behavior and personality: "It's like an alien took over his body." She quickly felt an isolation that is all too common. "This disease makes you so lonely," she said. " One of the only things that helps is meeting people who understand..."

Through AFTD, Katie made those crucial connections. She attended an AFTD Meet & Greet event near her home in South Carolina and enrolled in AFTD's volunteer training over the summer. "AFTD is great at ensuring its volunteers are informed and effective," she said.

Whether through Meet & Greets, grassroots events, or other volunteer opportunities, AFTD brings together people who understand FTD, and can help each other. It's been a crucial part of our mission for 15 years.

That's only possible with your support. Will you make  a 100% tax-deductible donation  today?
