This year many of the leaves have stayed on the trees longer than normal. Therefore, the Township has extended the date for leaf drop off until December 9. 

Only leaves may be dropped off, and they must be bagged in biodegradable paper bags. This service is for Spring Lake Township and Village residents only, and ID will be checked. Drop your leaves off through December 9, 2017.

Waste haulers in the Township provide our residents with a paid option to pick up yard waste. Yard waste pickup ends for all the waste haulers on November 30, which means that there will be some leaves that won't be picked up. Many compost sites close on December 1, so the waste haulers have no place to take the leaves, and no way to be reimbursed for additional services. You may bring your bagged leaves to the DPW building either Wednesday or Saturday.

We hope you understand the situation and appreciate the fact that this concern was created by Mother Nature, not the waste haulers or Township officials.                  

The Board of Trustees will be meeting on Monday, December 11 at Barber School (102 W Exchange). The work session will begin at 6pm and the regular meeting will begin at 6:30pm. Note the time change for the regular meeting.
