FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Mr. Sanfilippo's Announcements

I hope you enjoyed your break! It's hard to believe it is almost December! Please read the announcements and reminders below so you know what's happening. Use the Blast as a resource for finding the information you need!

Outdoor Recess
The weather is getting colder, but we continue to go outdoors for recess. Please make sure to send your child to school dressed warmly enough for outdoor recess!

Returning to School After an Illness
Please be aware of the Westlake City School District's policies for when a child should return to school after an illness:
FEVER : A child should be "fever free" for 24 hours before returning to school. Their temperature needs to be normal without having medication administered to lower it.

STREP THROAT : A child should be kept home for 24 hours from the time treatment begins. A child not visibly ill, but being tested, should remain home until the results of the culture confirm or dismiss the presence of strep.

VOMITING : A child must go 24 hours without vomiting before returning to school.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping Bassett students and families healthy! This information is available for download  here and we keep it posted in Quick Links.

Coats for Kids Service Project
Help a child in need stay warm this winter! From now through January 8, Bassett is collecting new and gently-used coats for Coats for Kids. There is a blue donation bin located by the main entrance. The flyer is  here.

This service project is coordinated by student council. If you have questions, please contact Mrs. DeAnna at  deanna@wlake.org.

Math Club Resumes Nov. 30
Between now and winter break, Math Club meets November 30, December 7, and December 14, 2:20-3:20 pm, for those who are signed up. Please be sure to send in a note each week indicating that your child is staying for Math Club.
