Greetings,
My favorite Advent Hymn is "O come, O come, Emmanuel." Origins of the hymn are sometimes traced as far back as the year 800. My favorite verse reads "Veni, veni, O Oriens" or as we sing today "O come, Thou Dayspring, from on High."
I once started a church called Dayspring based on this name of Jesus. This Sunday, we will hear from the priest Zechariah as he sings out about his son, John, and the Dayspring (Jesus) who comes to change the world. John prophesies that the Dayspring will bring light and peace to the world.
This Sunday, we also begin a new season of ministry at our church as we transition back to our main worship spaces. Our biggest prayer is that God will use us to bring light and peace to the lives of others in the community. O come, Thou Dayspring, from on High! Join us at 8:30, 9:30, or 11:00 as we re-launch our church for a new season.
Blessings,
Jeff Olive Senior Pastor

This month, we focus on the birth of the Christ Child. The Season of Christmastide is the time when we celebrate God's response to us by sending us a Savior, born in humility, and poverty. As you spend time each day in these familiar scriptures imagine you are hearing the story as a child for the very first time - what do you hear? What do you see? What do you feel?
