REAA NEWSLETTER
A newsletter to keep you informed about what's "up with arts."

Letter from the BOD President:
Dear members and friends,

The holiday season is upon us!  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and that you are gearing up for all of the holiday celebrations that take place in December including Christmas, Hanukkah, and more!

A great way to get into the Holiday mood is to attend the annual Holiday Stroll in downtown Hudson on Saturday, December 2nd.  The REAA will be participating in this event in several ways:
  • The River's Edge Chorale will be performing at Hudson Town Hall at 4pm.  This is a free event.
  • The REP Carolers will be strolling Main Street singing carols throughout the night.
  • We are also sponsoring our first Hudson 5x7 Clothesline Art Walk.  We will be displaying and selling 5x7 artwork at 3 locations throughout downtown Hudson.  Each piece will be sold for $20.
The fun doesn't stop there!  I hope you will consider joining us at our annual Holiday Concert on Saturday, December 10th.  The concert will take place at the First United Methodist Church in Hudson.  I also invite you to read on to learn more about our Winter Concert Series and several visual arts opportunities in the coming months.

Thank you for your time and support!

Warm Regards,
Lisa Schliker

Below is a listing of December events sponsored by REAA members:

Wednesday, December 6 - Artistic and Abstract Nature Photography presented by Ed McGuirk.   Abstract images generally rely on the strong use of lines, curves, shapes, colors, patterns and texture. This presentation discusses how to utilize these elements as they apply to abstract photography.  The program covers creative techniques such as Soft Focus, In-Camera Movement, and Multiple Exposures that allow a photographer to create more painterly-type images.
