Cheema Joins the Fulbright Family of Scholars
Amrita Cheema, PhD, has been selected as a Fulbright Research Specialist, a designation for highly experienced, well-established faculty members. Cheema is an associate professor in the department of oncology and biochemistry and molecular & cellular biology. As part of the Fulbright Research Specialist Program,
she will lead a workshop at Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar, India. She will also visit the National Institute of Pharmacological Education and Research and Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India as an invited speaker.
Rochelle E. Tractenberg, PhD, associate professor of neurology, has been named a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), "for exceptional stewardship of science through teaching, mentoring, scholarship, and service promoting the integrity of scientists and of science with statistics and statistical literacy." Tractenberg has secondary appointments in biostatistics, bioinformatics and biomathematics, and rehabilitation medicine. Read about her work

Georgetown psychology professor emeritus Darlene Howard, PhD, a member of the Georgetown Center for Brain Plasticity and Recovery, was also selected as a fellow. She and Tractenberg will be recognized at the 2018 AAAS Annual Meeting in Austin, Texas this February.
Georgetown Lombardi Announces Launch of New Cancer Survivorship Research Initiative
The goal of the new Cancer Survivorship Research Initiative, which will be led by Kristi Graves, PhD, associate professor of oncology, is to promote, support and lead high impact cancer survivorship research to improve the lives of people diagnosed with cancer. Research efforts will focus on the needs and outcomes of diverse populations of cancer survivors, building on local opportunities and strengths to develop a national model. Those interested in learning more are invited to fill out this form to receive additional information.
