Give to LUM in Lieu of Gifts - Honor a Friend
Collect Items for LUM - In Place of Gift Exchange
Did you know that you may give a monetary gift in honor of a friend or family member? Just let us know whom you wish to honor — and LUM will send them a card letting them know of your gift in their name.

You may also replace your Office Holiday Party "gift exchange" with a collection of "needed items" for LUM. Whether it's after school snacks for our children or paper towels for our shelter — each donation is needed and appreciated. Make your holiday celebrations at work or at home more meaningful for your family, your guests and your colleagues.
Port of Hope Success - Community Effort
Team Effort Results in Big Success for
2nd Annual Immigration Clinic Fundraiser
The LUM Immigration Clinic held its 2nd annual Port of Hope fundraiser on November 9 at the Lafayette Brewing Company. Once again, local Latin fusion band, Clave Caribe, rocked the house prompting insuppressible dancing and toe tapping. By overwhelming consensus it was an amazing evening of food, music, and fun.

The LUM Immigration Clinic is grateful to Lafayette Brewing Company who along with Franciscan Health were premiere sponsors of the event. Other sponsors of the event included Indian Women’s Association, TeraGraphics, Interior Objects, Albregts Team, University Bookstore, Southwire, Cline Chiropractic, Demeter LLP, Reed and Company, Wabash National, City of West Lafayette, Barash Law LLC, NeoVision, The Fountain Trust, Lafayette Venetian Blind, Bird Teeth, CityBus, Ivy Tech, Citation Homes , and Henriott Group.

Participating restaurants included Arnis, Bistro 501, Blue Nile, D&R Market, East End Grill, Fresh City Market, Lafayette Brewing Company, La Scala Italian Restaurant, Lkora Fast Food, Mammaw’s Sweet Shoppe, Maru, McGraw’s Steak Chop and Fish House, Parthenon, Sharma’s Kitchen, and Town and Gown Bistro.  The blend of appetizers and hors d'oeuvres donated by local restaurants from home and around the world was unparalleled.

Thank you to the businesses and individuals who donated to the marketplace and silent auction. Items for sale ranged from a box of chocolates donated by Kathy’s Kandies to “Wine, Chocolate and Candies” by Rachelle in a Basket , Folie Restaurant to a Brazilian Dinner for 8, a gift basket and membership to Tenley Studios to gift certificates from Walt’s Other Pub, a Scones and Doilies gift basket to a golf outing at Coyote Crossing. LUM also wants to recognize the amazing artists who decorated the panels that were part of the “Welcoming” mosaic that adorned the hall and were sold as part of the silent auction.

This event would never have been possible without our outstanding volunteers who spent countless hours planning, setting up, and tearing down the event. Thank you also to the immigrants who were interviewed for the “Treasure Book” project and the volunteers who compiled, edited, and produced it.

Finally, thank you to the donors who purchased tickets and attended the event. LUM greatly appreciates your enthusiasm and heart for immigrants in our community. With your help and the help of everyone who contributed to the Port of Hope through your time and treasure event was able to raise $23,000.
