A bunch of the teachers from Cheltenham Elementary brought their family members and friends to run the Pumpkin Pie Race at City Park on the first day of Thanksgiving break. It was a fun morning, the weather was beautiful and the pie was delicious!"

Living Our DPS Honoree
School Counselor, Noel Community Arts School
"At Noel Community Arts School, Christina Martinez goes over and beyond for our students by living our Shared Core Value of Integrity on a daily basis. She doesn't clock out when the bell rings and believes if there are students around, she is always a counselor.
One time one of our students lost their phone during school. It was already after school when the student was trying to locate the phone. The student went to Ms. Martinez and asked her for help. It would have been easy for her to say, 'I am sorry, kiddo, there is nothing we can do.' Instead, Martinez took the time to find the phone and return it to the student. The parent of the student was so happy and shocked that Ms. Martinez went out of her way.
Christina also doubled our Thanksgiving baskets this year with a goal to support more families, and she personally made a basket for a staff member's sister who was going through a hard time. She is truly an asset to NCAS Middle School and DPS as a whole, and she deserves every bit of thanks and recognition."
