Winter Wonderland at Burke Lake Park
Here's just one of the many happy visitors last weekend at the Burke Lake Park's Winter Wonderland! Bring your camera, visit with Santa, and enjoy some hot chocolate at Burke Lake Park's Winter Wonderland on December 9 and 10 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m.
Enjoy a train ride on the Holiday Express, take a spin on the Carolers Carousel, experience the Snowman's Wagon Ride, play Gingerbread Man Golf, or warm yourself by the fire and cook s'mores as you usher in your holidays.
Park Foundation volunteers will be providing giveaways and accepting voluntary donations at a location near Santa to help build a new birthday party picnic shelter in the childthis much-loved park.
Giving Thanks for #Giving Tuesday
Generous donors contributed $2,100 on #Giving Tuesday 2017.
The Park Foundation used Facebook, Twitter, and a special e-mail newsletter to remind everyone about the many benefits provided by Fairfax County Park Authority.
Park Foundation volunteers and staff shared photographs and messages about the need to support county parks with their friends and followers. Thanks to all who contributed and shared stories of favorite memories.

For the person who seems to have everything or is difficult to surprise, consider making a donation to the Park Foundation in honor of a special friend or family member.
You can celebrate a special occasion or remember the life of a friend or loved one.
- Contribute $50 or more in their honor to the Fairfax County Park Foundation.
- Provide the name and address of the individual(s) to be notified.
- Indicate whether the gift is made in their honor or memory.
The Park Foundation will mail this beautiful card (featuring Colvin Run Mill in Great Falls, Virginia) to share that a commemorative gift was donated.
Contributions made to the Park Foundation are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.

Half-Marathon for the Holidays
The run will showcase beautiful Wakefield and Lake Accotink parks and the Gerry Connolly Cross County Trail.
Runners can expect a premium experience starting with pre-race entertainment, a winter and holiday themed decorated course, scoring and awards, and an incredible post-race celebration including the awards ceremony, post-race buffet, and vendor expo.
