News from Denver CPD that may impact building and development projects

Now that we have a year of experience with the 2015 IECC, we have updated our energy code requirements for residential projects.

The revised policy addresses areas where we have received frequent questions, particularly on how a large addition/pop-top on an older, less energy-efficient home can meet the intent of energy codes. It also contains updated standards for using an energy rater and how you can receive $150 off your permit fees.

After a 30-day grace period, the policy will be in effect on December 7 th .

Our plan review and building permit fee structure is the same. The update to the building code fee policy is just to give customers better guidance for when incomplete, deferred, or modified drawings may incur additional plan review fees. The amount of any potential additional fee is unchanged.
