We are happy to announce the Jay & Lynn Montgomery Fund , a new donor advised fund at the Community Foundation. As lifelong residents of the Sycamore community, this fund provides a way for the Montgomery's to give back to the community they love .

$152,460 in Community Grants

Thanks to donor generosity and the power of endowment, the Community Foundation is able to award over $150,000 in Community Needs Grants this fall. This support impacts 31 local nonprofits and community organizations for a variety of projects.

Adding Rhythm to Music Education

This fall, $111,975 was awarded in Farny R. Wurlitzer Foundation Fund grants to support music education. Recipients include 27 nonprofit and community organizations across the Midwest region of the United States, including some located in DeKalb County, IL.

Giving Through an IRA Charitable Rollover

If you or someone you know is age 70½ and older, here is a giving option to consider. The IRA charitable rollover allows individuals to make a gift of a lifetime during their lifetime. S upport your charitable interests in the community with a tax-free gift from your IRA to a charitable organization such as the Community Foundation.
