Ben's Buzz

Dear BFCCPS Community,

Our Community Service activities are in full swing here at BFCCPS!  Last week our Kindergarten and Fifth Grade students performed our annual Leaf Raking service project. This is a long standing tradition here at BFCCPS that illustrates that even our tiniest students can make a difference.  Please check out photos from the event here

Grade Seven wishes to thank the extended community for their support of the Epilepsy Clothing Drive. In total we collected 3,786 pounds of clothing resulting in $757.20 towards their Quebec Trip this spring! Thank you for your very generous support which helped us crush this fundraising goal!

Many thanks to the BFCCPS Community for your generous donations for Mrs. Kaplan's candy donations for Operation Gratitude. Over  179 pounds of candy were donated which will be sent to the troops. Thank you so very much!

Please join me in congratulating BFCCPS Alumni Eamon McCarthy Earls and Patrick Casey. These two gentlemen have been elected to serve on the Franklin Town Council! You can read more about the elections here if you are interested.

Please welcome the newest member of the BFCCPS Community!  Kathryn "Kitty" Haverty was born on Monday, November 6th at 11:20 am weighing 9 lbs, 6 oz.  Wishing Mrs. Haverty a wonderful Maternity leave, Mrs. Johnson will be filling in for her as a 3rd Grade Assistant for Mrs. Urkevic and Mrs. Palmer.

If you did not have a chance to read the Special Edition of Ben's Buzz regarding  Parent Conference Signups, please be sure to  click here for details . The Teeso system will close by noon on Thursday, September 16th.  If you need to cancel or change an appointment after that time, please email Mrs. Leonard.  Student report cards will be posted to the SchoolBrains Portal on November 16th in advance of conferences, paper report cards will not be sent home this year.  We encourage you to review your child's report card in advance of your conferences.

Please note that babysitting will be available during conferences scheduled on Monday November 20th and Tuesday, November 21st for children ages 5 and up. This service is available for $10 per family to benefit the Quebec Trip and is supervised by Mrs. Mogauro.

Please remember that BFCCPS is closed this coming Friday, November 10th in observance of Veteran's Day.

Wishing you all a wonderful rest of the week!

Mrs. Heather Zolnowski

Bonjour les amis de BFCCPS!   It is that time of the year to celebrate French language and culture, since we teach French from Kindergarten to Grade 8.   We know that students, parents, faculty and teachers look forward to "La Semaine Française." Vive Le Français!

This year's theme:   Nos Différences Nous Rassemblent . (Our Differences Unite us.)  We will represent the French speaking world and our message will be that we need to look at common goals that we share.
